As I mentioned in my previous article, if a customer starts the purchasing process in your Shopify store and leaves your store after entering their email address, then the Shopify Abandoned Checkout automation is triggered.

When you examine your customers’ behavior with Google Analytics or any other analytics tool you use, you can see that many visitors to your online store leave your store without even starting the checkout process, despite adding products to their cart.

This is where Shopify Abandoned Cart Automation comes in.

How does Shopify Abandoned Cart Automation Work?

You can use this automation if the person who visited your store was previously a member of your store and gave you permission to send marketing messages.

If this visitor adds at least one product to their cart during their session on your store and then leaves your store without starting the purchase process, then Shopify Abandoned Cart Automation starts working.

How to set up Shopify Abandoned Cart Automation

After logging into the Shopify admin panel, click the marketing menu and then go to the automations tab. Click the Create Automation button at the top left.

You will see the “Cart Abandonment” automation among the template automations offered by Shopify.

Click the Create Automation button at the top left. You will see the “Cart Abandonment” automation among the template automations offered ready-made by Shopify. You can access the detailed settings of this theme by clicking the “Edit” button on this automation.

All the necessary settings come ready-made here. In general, I am only updating the rule of not sending another abandonment email in the last 14 days to 7 days.

In the last step of the automation setting, you can update the email you will send. You can edit the content, fonts and appearance here as you wish.

After making all your settings, you can start this automation.

What You Need to Know About Shopify Cart Abandonment Automation

An important segment is those who add products to their cart in your store but leave your page without starting the purchase process. By focusing only on this segment, you can significantly increase your sales and revenues.
